What is a security playbook?
A security playbook is a defined set of steps a team, or a platform, follows when a specific condition is met: who acts, what they do, and how they know it worked. Incident response playbooks handle attacks; human risk playbooks act on risky behavior before an attack lands.
How it works
A human risk playbook might say: when a person with admin access reuses a password found in a breach, require a reset, send a two-minute module, and notify their manager if it happens again.
Playbooks make response consistent and auditable, and they can be automated through the tools already in the stack: the identity provider, ticketing, chat and training.
Why it matters
Finding risk is half the job. Playbooks are how a program acts on it at scale without a person deciding every case by hand.
How Living Security helps
Living Security playbooks turn a recommendation into action across every product and your stack: a simulation, a module, a nudge, or a control change in Okta, Entra ID, ServiceNow or Jira. If a tool in your stack can take an action, a playbook can trigger it.
