Unify - Segments

💻General:

A large factor in managing and mitigating risk within your business is the ability to accurately   view risks based on the organizational structure of your business. Unify maps in 3 default segments from your identity provider and with your guidance these can be added to or replaced by up to 10 total custom Segments. 

👥Segments

Currently, there are 3 default segments that you can use to sort and filter identities through:

• Office Location 
• Department
• Job Title

These can be added to or replaced by completing this form to provide Living Security with the exact data source and field to map in. Examples of common custom segments include:

• Employee Type
• Employee Level
• Cost Center
• Business Unit
• Region
• Country
• Division

📈How to Leverage Segments

Throughout Unify you will have the ability to sort, filter, compare, and group segments together based on your needs. We've broken down a few of the more common workflows that clients use Segments for below.

1. Share Segment-level HRI for internal reporting-
   1. You can filter the Segment view to show only 1 type of segment and then sort by Risk Score to see the lowest vs. highest scores
      
2. Group Segments together in a Lens
   1. You can create a Lens that groups several segments into a broader group, and then view risk on this higher level. For example, combine several Office Location addresses into a single 'New York' Lens
      
3. Compare Segments within a specific behavior to identify patterns of risk
   1. Within an Insight or Power Insight, filter to a specific Segment type and sort by the '% of Segment' column to see which groups are most detected
