Unify - Create a Training-Based Action Plan with Living Security Training Platform

This article provides step-by-step instructions for assigning Living Security training to a group of individuals from an Action Plan in Unify

Step 1: Prepare the Training Campaign in Training

  • Access Campaign Builder:

    • Navigate to Training and open the Campaign Builder.
  • Create a Campaign:

    • Name your campaign appropriately (e.g., "December Data Classification Training").
    • Avoid using terms like "Action Plan" in the campaign name as it will be visible to employees.
  • Don't Select an Audience

    • Leave the Audience field blank for now, as the audience will be created during the Action Plan setup in Unify.

  • Set Up Training Content:

    • Select training content to assign, such as videos or modules.
    • Specify the assignment and due dates (e.g., assigned on launch, due in 15 days).
  • Configure Notifications:

    • Define notifications to inform employees of their training responsibilities. Example email cadence for training due in 15 days:
      • Day 1: Assignment notification.
      • Day 10, Day 15: Reminder notifications.
      • Day 16, Day 18: Overdue notifications.
    • Use the Notification section to customize templates with your company’s branding.
    • Save and test each notification.
  • Review and Save Campaign:

    • Ensure all components (content, notifications) are properly configured.
    • Save the campaign for later use, do not hit launch!

Step 2: Identify the Audience in Unify

  • Navigate to Unify:

    • From the Unify dashboard, identify the individuals that you would like to train. Common mechanisms for identifying these individuals include:
      • A Lens filtered on Highly Risky identities.
      • A Lens specific to your organization's risk tolerances.
      • Utilize a Recommendation
    • You can view the Identities that meet the criteria selected within the People tab.
  • Refine the Audience:

    • Adjust filters if necessary to ensure the group includes the desired individuals.

Step 3: Create the Action Plan in Unify

  • Initiate the Action Plan:

    • Click on "Create Action Plan."
  • Define the Action Plan:

    • Name the action plan (e.g., "December 2024 High-Risk Training Plan").
    • Optionally, add a description for internal reference.
  • Set Insights for Tracking:

    • Select up to five Insights to track (e.g., MFA adoption, phish reporting, blocked data transfers).
  • Define the Audience:

    • Label the audience (e.g., "High-Risk Employees December 2024").
    • This group will be used for the training campaign.
  • Link the Training Campaign:

    • Select the planned training campaign. This step links the audience from the Action Plan to the campaign.
  • Save the Action Plan:

    • Click "Create Action Plan." This begins the tracking of the employee subset but does not send training.

Step 4: Validate and Launch the Campaign

  • Review Notifications:

    • Revisit Training to verify that all notifications are configured and tested.
  • Confirm Audience Selection:

    • The Campaign in Training will now reflect the Audience created within the Unify Action Plan.
  • Launch the Campaign:

    • Click the "Launch" button in Training.

Step 5: Monitor Progress and Metrics

  • Track Completion in Unify:

    • Use the Action Plans section in Unify to monitor training completion rates and behavioral metrics.
  • Address Non-Compliance:

    • Set up additional reminders or corrective actions for overdue employees.

By following these steps, you can effectively assign and manage training for high-risk individuals, ensuring improved compliance and security awareness within your organization.
